Ned Garver 1951 All Star Game Used Bat.

Ned Garver, the starting pitcher for the American League in
the 1951 All Star game, came to bat
in the bottom of the second inning and struck out. His game used bat (pictured
above) sold in a 2004
American Memorabilia
Auction for $1500.00.
Garver won 20 games for the cellar dweller St. Louis Browns in
1951, finishing with a 20-12 record.
He also was a very good hitting pitcher as he completed 1951 with a .305 batting
average.
